TRUE VINTAGE 50'S WIRING HARNESS FOR STRAT
Based on the original 54' Strat wiring, this is the true vintage 50s re-production wiring harness for your Stratocaster®. Compared to the Obsidian® Vintage Plus set you will get more interactive volume controls (Warmer sounds at lower volumes), greater clarity and output from the bridge pickup, and an increased range of treble roll off from the tone controls.
INTERACTIVE VOLUME CONTROL
The volume control on the 54' Strats roll off treble with volume, so your sounds gets warmer as it gets quieter. This can be the perfect solution for very easily rolling between rhythm and lead.
WIDE RANGE TONE CONTROLS
The 54 Strats came with one tone control for the neck pickup, and another for the middle pickup. They ran through a 0.1mfd capacitor and 250k pots, which allows a greater range of treble roll off than the modern Strats that usually run off a more limited 0.047uf or even 0.022uf capacitor. Leaving the bridge pickup with a tone control reduces its capacitance load, resulting in a slightly more treble, and overall output for a brighter sound.
5 WAY SWITCH
The original 54' Strats used a 3-way switch. We have huge amounts of respect for Leo, but we think he got this part wrong, so we use a 5-way.
