Vemuram Allies 15' Guitar Cable Brass/Phosphor Bronze Plugs BPB-VM-SST/LST-15F
Through countless trial and error, we came to a conclusion to proceed with a straight and natural sounding cable. Of course, it’s simple to explain in words, but this nuance can be defined differently to certain people. So, the question is “What is the foundation for getting started to develop the ideal sounding cables?” Cable engineers are not top pro-musicians, we don’t have the experience of playing over 100+ gigs a year or even being able to play in sold out arena. What we achieved was ask new friends and top guitar players to test them in their live gigging situations. We asked how the cables sounded, what they would except and desire in a cable, not only the tone but what features would make it much more usable product for touring musicians. We would like to thank all the musicians who contributed to this ongoing tone quest for our Allies cables.
After receiving feedback from the musicians, we were able to narrow down the cables and figured out where we wanted to step forward. We wanted to fulfill their necessities from their comments. We reconsidered how we can make our plugs even better for the touring and gigging scene. We developed, tuned and tested countless numbers of plugs and cables including other manufactured products and finally managed to accomplish the “Allies Cables”.
The Allies original custom plugs consist of 3 pieces carefully milled by CNC machines. The plug structure allowed us to solve the problems to the modern-day plugs. The Allies plug will be our highest ranked class in our lineup.
Brass is well known and used for plugs by many manufacturers. But we have added and selected a new material, Phosphor Bronze. We also tested other materials such as Beryllium Bronze and other alloys, but applying phosphor bronze, we were able to discover a whole new characteristic to the sound and exploring new possible ways of tuning our plugs. The phosphor bronze has an aspect which is rigid and suitable for instrument plugs. Comparing to Brass, the phosphor bronze delivers more clarity to the sound, and adds the perfect amount of highs and the low frequencies. Being able to use the phosphor bronze and the brass material, we can select these two materials to the plug structure which is made up of the Tip, Sleeve(Body) and Cap. These will vary in sound depending on the selected material. Among them all, we chose three different plug patterns for our lineup.
All Brass (Model name BBB), an orthodox sounding cable resembling the so-called legendary guitar tones but adding more mid frequencies to the sound.
Mix (Brass and Phosphor Bronze) - (Model name BPB) a very balanced sound where the high and the low frequencies are not too emphasized. Comparing it with the All Brass plugs, the mid frequency is stable and sustained, a flat characteristic to the sound.
All Phosphor Bronze (Model name PPP), out of all the plugs it has a very wide range in character. It’s difficult to explain the characteristics in words, we recommend that you test and try all 3 types of our Allies Cables.
